France captain and protector Wendie Renard says her side “ can achieve commodity great ” this time at the Women’s World Cup having not been effective enough in once events.

“We haven’t got past the quarter- tests because we weren’t relatively effective enough at critical moments, ” Renard, 32, said in an interview on the FIFA website.

Herve Renard, 54, took over the job as France women’s trainer in March when former director Corinne Diacre’s position had come untenable after Wendie Renard said she’d not play at the World Cup to save her internal health.

“He’s a trainer with a lot of experience who has won at transnational position and is also attractive, ” she said.
Herve Renard took Zambia’s men’s platoon to the African Nations title in 2012 before repeating the feat with Ivory Coast three times latterly.
