Eight-time FA Cup winner Spurs and Burnley looked destined for a replay before Porro broke the deadlock in the 78th minute.

Pedro Porro scored his first thing of the season to put Tottenham Hotspur through to the fourth round of the FA Mug with a 1- 0 palm over Burnley on Friday, while Fulham eased its way through with a 1- 0 palm over Rotherham United.

Ten- man Wolverhampton rovers came from behind to draw 1- 1 at Brentford and force a renewal, despite having Joao Gomes transferred off in the ninth nanosecond.

Eight- time FA Cup winner Spurs and Burnley looked fated for a renewal before Porro broke the impasse in the 78th nanosecond of a drab game when he interdicted goalkeeper Arijanet Muric’s gamble, firing a rocket from long range into the top far corner.

“(Porro) shoots a lot in training- misses a lot, but moment it came off and it was an unthinkable thing, ” a beaming Spurs forward Brennan Johnson told ITV.

The palm was relief for Ange Postecoglou’s platoon, which was missing several crucial players to injury and transnational duty, including South Korea captain Son Heung- min at the Asian Cup, and Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma, who are both at the Africa Cup of Nations.

“The nethermost line is we ’re though to the coming round so that’s what you ’ve got to take out of it because I suppose the mug games are a unique beast and we ’re through to the coming round so that’s the main thing, ” Postecoglou said.

“We were a little bit extravagant in the final third because we had utmost of the ball, utmost of the home. ”

Burnley’s stylish chance came in the first half when Zeki Amdouni entered a clever film just outside the six- yard box but took a poor first touch and launched the ball over the bar. It infrequently hovered as Spurs set up a way to grind out the palm.

Championship (alternate league) side Rotherham, which hasn’t made it through to the fourth round of the competition since 2001- 02, kept its countenance beforehand on as Fulham controlled the play.

But Bobby De Cordova- Reid made the advance in the 24th nanosecond, smashing the ball into the top left corner from outside the area as the caller came overstretched, important to the delight of the bottom- stamping suckers rattling the century-old Johnny Haynes stand.

Jordan Hugill allowed he’d levelled the score for Rotherham just moments latterly, but his trouble was ruled out for offside, and eventually the Yorkshire side were transferred home without registering a single shot on target.

“Going through in the competition was our end, our desire was clear and we merited it, ” Fulham director Marco Silva said.

Depleted Wolves fell behind to a Neal Maupay thing four twinkles before the break but the caller set up the equaliser in the 64th nanosecond when Tommy Doyle hit a stunning strike from outside the area, and will be happy to take Brentford back to Molineux.

“I ’m really pleased, it’s an inconceivable trouble from the players, ” said Wolves director Gary O’Neil. “ There wasn’t important between the brigades indeed with 10 versus 11. We fared with their redundant man, tactically we dealt with it veritably well. Indeed going 1- 0 down with 10 men, to put in the alternate half they did was really emotional. ”

There are 27 games listed for Sunday, while Wigan Athletic hosts Manchester United on Monday. Everton and Crystal Palace clash in a renewal on January 17 to wrap up the third round. Know More Latest Football News…
