Premier League: Liverpool Confirms Exit Of Milner, Firmino Among Four First Team Stars

The four all played their part in Jurgen Klopp’s side as the Reds clinched the Premier League title after 30 years, racking up 99 points in the 2019-20 season.

Liverpool verified that four of its former first platoon stars, Roberto Firmino, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain, will be leaving the club this summer.

“The quintet will each embark on new chapters in their careers following the conclusion of the 2022- 23 season, having helped the Reds lift a host of the game’s biggest honours during their spells at Anfield, ” the club said on its website.

Firmino was formerly one of the attacking triad of the Reds that comprised Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and the Brazilian. But he, with injuries playing their part, came redundant to conditions at Anfield ultimately.

The four all played their part in Klopp’s side winning the titleholders League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2019, before getting the first Liverpool platoon to decide the league title for 30 times as they racked up 99 points in 2019- 20.

Two further glories were added to the collection amid a cock at a quadruple last term, with success in the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup at Wembley.

Milner has made 330 appearances for Liverpool having joined on a free transfer from Manchester City in 2015. It’s understood the 37- time-old will join Brighton as a free agent this summer.

Firmino, who also joined Liverpool in 2015 in a£ 29 million deal from Hoffenheim, has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona.

Keita, meanwhile, has plodded to make an impact since his £52.7 m move in 2017 due to injury and has been confined to making just 13 appearances this season.

Oxlade- Chamberlain has also plodded with injury issues during his time at Anfield but has won five major glories with Liverpool including the Premier League and the Premier League.
