NZ Vs SL Odis: Latham To Lead New Zealand As Regulars Leave For IPL 2023

Tom Latham will lead New Zealand’s one- day transnational platoon in the three- match series against Sri Lanka latterly this month with regulars similar as Kane Williamson set to play in the Indian Premier League( IPL), New Zealand Justice said on Monday.

The three- match series begins on March 25 and ends on March 31, the same day the 2023 IPL season kicks off.

Latham will be commander for the white ball matches at Auckland’s Eden Park on March 25, Christchurch three days latterly and Hamilton on March 31, the same day the 2023 IPL season kicks off.

“Chad has been emotional for a number of seasons at the top of the order for Canterbury as well as being an excellent fielder, ” trainer Gary Stead said in a statement.

“We’re set to play 16 white ball matches between now and the launch of May so there will be a number of chances for players to test themselves in familiar and strange conditions.

“Tom Blundell, in particular, is someone who we ’ve been monstrously impressed by in transnational justice over the once 18 months as a leader in the test platoon and also domestically with the Wellington Firebirds. ”

New Zealand will host Sri Lanka in three Twenty20 matches following the ODI series.
