Novak Djokovic responded to the BCCI video where Virat Kohli spoke of his admiration for the tennis star.
One of the finest tennis stars to have graced the game, Novak Djokovic gears up for the first Grand Slam of the time, the Australian Open 2024. As the tennis ace started his medication for the 2- week long event, he entered a good luck chatting from India’s marquee cricketer Virat Kohli. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) participated a videotape where Kohli spoke about his admiration for Djokovic and also recited an interesting tale about his first contact with the Serbian tennis star. Seeing the videotape spread like campfire on social media, Djokovic has responded.
In the videotape, Kohli revealed that he formerly organically decided to shoot a communication to Djokovic on Instagram. But to his surprise, the tennis maestro had formerly contacted him, marking the morning of their fellowship.
“I got in touch with Novak veritably organically, I was just looking at his profile formerly on Instagram and I just happed to press the communication button. I allowed
I will just say hello, perhaps,” Kohli revealed on BCCI’ X’ ahead of his T20 comeback against Afghanistan at Indore.
“And also I saw a communication from him on my DM formerly. I no way opened it myself. So, first time I saw my own dispatches myself, I saw, he contacted me himself. And I was like, let me just check if it’s a fake account or commodity like that.
“But also I checked it again and it was licit. And also, yeah, we got talking. We keep swapping dispatches every now and also. I complimented him for all his amazing achievements.” The two athletes snappily set up common ground, regularly swapping congratulatory dispatches on their separate achievements. They both are also epitome of supreme fitness allowing them to exceed indeed in their medial 30s.
Djokovic also complimented Kohli on his 50th ODI century, by posting an Instagram story, a gesture that reverberated deeply with the Indian cricketing great.
“When I got my 50th century lately, he put out a story and he transferred me a veritably nice communication as well. So, there is been a collective admiration, respect.
“It’s really nice to connect with global athletes who are, you know, outstripping at a high position. And I suppose, inclusively, what I suppose about it’s transferring out a communication of alleviation to the coming generation in a way.
