Natarajan, whose career has been hampered by injuries, bounced back strongly after conceding 17 runs in his first over. He ended with figures of two for 23 in three overs against Rajasthan Royals on Sunday.
Sunrisers Hyderabad head trainer Brian Lara was “ veritably impressed ” by injury-prone leader T. Natarajan, whose performance was one of the many cons to have come out of the heavy loss against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL( Indian Premier League).
Royals won the game by 72 runs. T. Natarajan, whose career has been hampered by injuries, bounced back explosively after conceding 17 runs in his first over. He ended with numbers of two for 23 in three overs.
“First of all, injury-wise, he’s back and he has the experience. How he came after the first over was veritably emotional. The bowlers did well in the last eight overs. At one point it looked that we’d be chasing 225- plus but they (Royals) plodded to get over 200. There were some cons. The guys can ameliorate from then, ” said Lara on Sunday.
“We played a lot of practice sessions alongside the factual pitch. Those were a little bit bouncy and had a bit of pace on them. When we looked at the track for moment we felt it was a good track and it was the first game of the event. We allowed let’s see if we can, with bowling being our strong suit during the camps, if we can put the opposition under pressure. ”
He gave due credit to opposition baits Yuzvendra Chahal and R. Ashwin.
“Obviously, with a little bit of rough marks and with the class of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin We didn’t drift as well as we should have in the opening overs and the guys put their hands up and said we got to ameliorate in that area. ” Lara added their performance in both the Power Plays bring them the game.
Still, we lost the first Power Play with the ball in our hands, “ If you resolve the game into two halves. And when we had the club in our hands, we also lost the Power Play. They got 85 and it obviously becomes tough when you lose two lattices in the first over chasing over 200, ” Lara more.
“At one point, we allowed we’d be chasing 220 plus but our bowlers did well at the aft end of the game and confined them to 203 for 5, ” he said.
Rajasthan Royals put up an each-round dominant display to start their IPL 2023 crusade with a 72- run thrashing of hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday.
Lara said that they lost the game in the two powerplays.
He said “ If you resolve the game into two halves. We lost the first powerplay with the ball in our hands. And when we had the batons in our hands, we also lost the powerplay again.
“We lost both the powerplays in drastic ways. They got 85 with the club, and also losing two lattices in the first over set you back when you’re chasing over 200.
“We’ll have to look into the crimes and try to ameliorate. It’s the first game we know where er are now, that’s the most important thing.
“We know where we’re as a platoon. It came with a ruinous defeat, but it’s just the morning of the event and we will look to brio back from then, ” he said. Know More IPL News…
