Siraj has so far taken nine wickets from seven games and once again looked in rhythm during his wonderful spell of three for 16 in seven overs as India bowled Sri Lanka out for a paltry 55.

He did have issues with meter in the once couple of games but Mohammed Siraj’s parameter of judging himself is thickness in deliveries sailed in good areas rather than the volume of lattices taken.

Siraj has so far taken nine lattices from seven games and after the Pakistan game, formerly again looked in meter during his awful spell of three for 16 in seven overs as India sailed Sri Lanka out for a paltry 55.

“Taking lattices is important and there’s no mistrustfulness about that. But my meter wasn’t harmonious for the last 2- 3 matches, occasionally I was in meter and occasionally I was not, ” Siraj told the mixed zone media after India’s humongous 302- run palm then at the Wankhede Stadium.

Statistics always don’t reflect a true picture and Siraj doesn’t want to be critical of himself about the number of lattices in his kitty.

“I’m not judging myself with (the number of) lattices (taken). The fact that I was suitable to land the ball constantly (in good areas) and the swing which I got, that you saw, I’m veritably happy about it and I want to carry this instigation forward, ” he said.

Sri Lanka was a game where his prosecution was picture-perfect.

“Whatever I had planned coming into this match brought me success and whatever I had allowed of, I was suitable to execute. And I’m happy that we’ve qualified( for semifinals) as well, ” he added.

With Mohammed Shami producing his alternate five- gate haul in three games and Jasprit Bumrah at the top of his performances in every game so far, there are addresses doing rounds that this bowling line- up has been India’s stylish. still, Siraj doesn’t want to get drawn into any similar addresses or comparisons.

“When we’re doing well everyone keeps saying that the combination is good but when the performances go down there are addresses that this bowler should be dropped or that one, ” he said.

Siraj also doesn’t like the talk about changing combinations every alternate game.

“With just one bad game, everyone addresses about changes in combination and dropping the players. We’re keeping all the negatives outdoors and taking all the cons along the way with us, ” Siraj added.

Siraj expressed happiness in the fact that each of India’s bowling attack has stepped up in colorful stages of its World Cup crusade, and he highlights sharing of information and relaying pivotal dispatches to each other during the games as one of the crucial factors.

“I get advised on getting these dispatches; say the ball isn’t swinging, but I still try to find some swing. But if there’s nothing, also I switch to generating confluence movement. It’s veritably good for us as fast bowlers to get similar dispatches and also for the platoon, ” he replied when asked about what kind of dispatches are changed between the bowlers on the field while playing a match.

The right- arm leader also heaped praise on India vice-captain and wicketkeeper- batter KL Rahul for being constantly on top of his judgment when it comes to his inputs during the DRS calls.

On Thursday, with the arbiter judging a delivery from Shami down the leg as a wide, Rahul asked for DRS intervention and the renewals showed that the ball had indeed brushed Dushmantha Chameera’s gloves.

“As a wicketkeeper, it’s important to see where the ball is hitting or going down or hitting the refuse. He gets a good view from before and he’s taking some veritably good calls. He rehearsed a lot during his injury (lay- off) and in the recovery he’d good successes so it’s working out veritably well for him as a wicketkeeper and for the platoon, ” Siraj said.

Siraj said dismissing Sri Lanka batters Dasun Shanaka in the Asia Cup final and Kusal Mendis with identical deliveries were both special to him.

“Both the discharges were analogous, Shanaka’s got me the five- gate haul. Both are good because I haven’t got numerous lattices brushing wide of the crinkle. Whatever I allowed of, I was suitable to execute, ” he said. Know More Latest Cricket News…
