The quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will be held from December 09 to December 11.

With Portugal decimating Switzerland 6-1 in the final Round of 16 match, the line-up for the quarter-finals of the tournament is decided. Top teams like Germany and Belgium were already eliminated in the group stage while the Round of 16 saw 2010 champions Spain crashing out after a defeat to Morocco on penalties. Giants like France, Brazil, Portugal, and England have booked their qualification into the last 8 with convincing results. Some exciting contests await in the quarter-finals of the FIFA World Cup from where only 4 teams will go through to the semi-finals.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 is entering the most instigative stage of the event, where top brigades will be over against each other in the final many rounds of the event. Argentina and Brazil– two South American titans who have formerly passed the Round of 16 stage– are just one step down from facing each other in a possiblesemi-final clash of the event. Such a situation would see Neymar and Messi, two of the finest forwards in the world at present, teammates at French club Paris- Saint Germain and also great musketeers, square off against each other.

Brazil came up against South Korea in the Round of 16 of the event and secured a thumping 4- 1 palm to march into the quarter- tests. In the coming round, the Selecao are listed to face the runners- up of the last edition of the FIFA World Cup, Croatia. A palm over Luka Mordic’s side would take the 5- time world titleholders into thesemi-finals of the event.

Argentina, who did not have the easiest of paths to the Round of 16, came up against Australia in their first knockout match and secured a 2- 1 palm to go through. In the quarter- tests, they’re listed to take on Netherlands who have looked mighty emotional so far. A palm over the Dutch would take Lionel Messi’s side to thesemi-finals where they will be over against the Brazilians.

It has to be flashed back that Brazil and Argentina had squared off against each other in the final of 2021 Copa America where Angel di Maria’s sole strike had given La Albicelste a 1- 0 palm.

At a stage as big as thesemi-finals, there are not any favourites but going by how Brazil have performed in the event so far, they’re anticipated to hold a slight edge over Argentina. Know More FIFA News…
