Former FIFA chairman Sepp Blatter says the decision to award the 2022 World Cup tests to Qatar was a” mistake”. In 2010, FIFA’s administrative commission suggested 14- 8 for Qatar to host the event ahead of the United States.” It was a mistake,” Blatter said in an interview with AFP’s German sports attachment SID.” It was grounded on a decision when I was chairman, and thus I bear part of the responsibility for it.”

Sepp Blatter says he suggested for the United States to host the 2022 event and blames also- UEFA chairman Michel Platini for swinging the vote in Qatar’s favour at the decree of also- French chairman Nicolas Sarkozy.

Sarkozy had recommended to Platini” that he and his people should bounce for Qatar”, Blatter said. The former FIFA chairman’s interpretation of events has been denied by Platini.

Platini told French investigators that while he attended a lunch at the Elysee Palace with Sarkozy and also- Qatari crown Napoleon Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al- Thani shortly before the vote,” the chairman( Sarkozy) noway asked me to bounce for one country or another, but I got the print that he supported Qatar.”

The Qatar World Cup is the first to be held in the Middle East and the first during the Northern Hemisphere downtime. It takes place from 20 November to 18 December.

The vote to award the event to Qatar was girdled by allegations of corruption.” I did not watch if someone was told then or there,” Blatter said, adding that as the voting process went on, he realised that” other forces were at work”.

” The Qataris did not give gifts to the people who were advancing, they gave them to their countries,” Blatter said.

Blatter was FIFA chairman for 17 times but was forced to step down in 2015 over allegations he unlawfully arranged a transfer of two million Swiss francs($2.2 million) to Platini, who was also forced to abdicate from his position at FIFA.

FIFA originally banned Blatter from football for eight times, latterly reduced to six, over the payment to Platini. Blatter’s ban was extended to 2028 for violations of FIFA’s law of ethics.

Blatter and Platini were set up not shamefaced of fraud at a trial in Switzerland in July.

The Fifa letter was criticised by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and LGBTQ contenders in England and Wales, while 10 European football associations including those of England and Wales- said” mortal rights are universal and apply far and wide”.

There’s concern about how LGBTQ people are treated in Qatar, where same- coitus connections and the creation of same- coitus connections are criminalised, with corrections ranging from forfeitures to the death judgment .

Amnesty International says that since 2010, hundreds of thousands of migratory workers have faced mortal rights abuses while employed to make wider structure necessary to host the event.

Peaceful demurrers have been planned by some players, while England’s Harry Kane and nine other captains of European brigades will be wearing’ One Love’ armbands. to promote diversity and addition.

Denmark will wear” toned- down” shirts to protest against Qatar, with tackle provider Hummel saying it” does not wish to be visible” in a event it claims” has bring thousands of lives”, while Australia’s team have released a videotape prompting Qatar to abolish its laws on same- coitus connections.
