MCI 4-1 ARS highlights, Premier League: Man City inches closer to retaining title after thumping win against Arsenal

Manchester City took control of the Premier League title race as Kevin De Bruyne scored doubly in a dominant 4- 1 palm over leaders Arsenal to close in on retaining its crown as English champion on Wednesday.

Arsenal holds a two- point lead at the top of the table, but City have two games in hand, meaning Pep Guardiola’s men can go to lose one of their remaining seven matches and still claim a fifth title in six seasons.

The Gunners ’ challenge to win the league for the first time in 19 times had formerly come off the rails before their trip to the Etihad, as Mikel Arteta’s men have now failed to win in their last four games.

But for the first time this season, they were truly excelled as City flexed their muscles.

The appearance of Erling Haaland has brought a new dimension to a side that was formerly the dominant force of the English game.

Haaland set a new record of 33 Premier League pretensions in a 38- game season deep into cessation time to take his census in all competitions for the crusade to 49.

But the Norwegian showed there’s further to his game than pretensions with a sublime touch that set De Bruyne down to coil the opening thing beyond Aaron Ramsdale after just seven twinkles.

Arsenal no way recovered from that agony launch and was fortunate not to be blown down before half- time.

Ben White’s last- gutter block denied De Bruyne an nearly carbon dupe of his first thing after being set free in, behind by Haaland.

Ramsdale also single- handedly kept Arsenal in the game and Haaland at bay with a chapeau- trick of saves from the towering 22- time-old.

But there was no reprieve when John monuments headed in De Bruyne’s free- kick in first- half cessation time, and a VAR review arbitrated the England protector was onside.

Ramsdale continued to win his battle with Haaland after the break when the City striker tripped clean through from Ederson’s long ball.

But Arsenal lost the war as Haaland teed up De Bruyne, formerly more, to find the nethermost corner via a nutmeg on Rob Holding on 54 twinkles.

Holding has been the goat for Arsenal’s protective straits in recent weeks as he has plodded to replace the injured William Saliba.

Arteta’s men have now conceded 10 times in their last four games and face a huge challenge to raise themselves in the final weeks of the crusade to keep any kind of pressure on City.

Arsenal did at least get on the scoresheet four twinkles from time through the doubtful figure of Holding when the centre- reverse smashed home.

But indeed if there’s an Arsenal response, City look imperious as they close in on not only a third successive Premier League title but a treble.

A meeting with Real Madrid in the titleholders League semifinals appears the biggest chain coming month, with a FA Cup final against original rival Manchester United to follow on June 3.

Haaland handed the final flourish with nearly the last kick of the game when he eventually got the better of Ramsdale to move once Mohamed Salah’s former record of 32 Premier League pretensions in the2017/18 season. Know More Football News…
