Ten Hag, speaking at United’s downtime training camp in Spain, claimed the 37- time-old, presently playing for Portugal at the FIFA World Cup, had indeed suggested at his desire to remain at the club before the season started.

Ronaldo’s response comes after the Portugal Football Federation( FPF) denied that their most- limited player hovered to abandon the World Cup team after being benched against Switzerland.
“The FPF clarifies that at no time did the captain of the Selecao, Cristiano Ronaldo, hang to leave the public platoon during the stay in Qatar,” said the confederation.
“Every day Ronaldo is erecting up a unique track record at the service of the public platoon and the country, which must be admired.”
The FPF said Ronaldo’s appearance against Switzerland was a farther demonstration of his commitment to the cause.
