BCCI Secretary Jay Shah In Bahrain For ACC Meet, To Decide On Pakistan’s Asia Cup Hosting Rights

If sources in the BCCI are to be believed, there is little to no chance of the Asia Cup being held in Pakistan in September.

Indian justice board clerk Jay Shah has flown to Bahrain where an imperative meeting of the Asian Cricket Council( ACC) has been called at PCB president Najam Sethi’s decree to decide the fate of Pakistan’s Asia Cup hosting rights.

Still, there’s little to no chance of the Asia Cup being held in Pakistan in September, If sources in the BCCI are to be believed.

Still, the event will either be shifted to UAE with PCB retaining the hosting rights, or Sri Lanka could be the other option, If at all.

“Jay is in Bahrain for the ACC meeting. The BCCI’s stage won’t change. We’ll not be travelling to Pakistan as we haven’t got any go- ahead from the government, ” a BCCI source stated.

Still, the event will either be shifted to UAE with PCB retaining the hosting rights or Sri Lanka could be the other option, If at all. It’s also understood that recent lemon blasts in Peshawar have again raised security enterprises about holding justice events in Pakistan.

In December last time, ACC president Shah released the diary of the international body and the venue of the Asia Cup wasn’t mentioned. This led to Sethi criminating Shah of taking a “ unilateral decision ”, an allegation that ACC officially refuted stating that repeated emails to PCB seeking recommendations on the diary went unanswered.

In October last time, Shah, who’s also the supremo of BCCI, officially told the media that India won’t travel to Pakistan. The quondam PCB principal Ramiz Raja had back also hovered that Pakistan won’t travel to India for this time’s 50- over World Cup.

It’s also understood that recent lemon blasts in Peshawar have again raised security enterprises about holding justice events in Pakistan.
